“Clouds Got In My Way”….

Sterling Venue Ventures has just announced that, due to the inclement weather forecast for Sunday evening, August 20, the Judy Collins / Sophie B. Hawkins concert scheduled to be outdoors at the Libbey Bowl in Ojai has been re-located to the Oxnard Performing Arts Center at 800 Hobson Way. Likewise, the show start time is moved to 7:30pm. All previously purchased Libbey Bowl tickets will be honored at this new location.

Judy Collins has inspired audiences with sublime vocals, boldly vulnerable songwriting, personal life triumphs, and a firm commitment to social activism since the 1960s.

The award-winning singer-songwriter is esteemed for her imaginative interpretations of traditional and contemporary folk standards and her own poetically poignant original compositions. Her stunning rendition of Joni Mitchell's “Both Sides Now” from her landmark 1967 album, Wildflowers, has been entered into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Judy’s dreamy and sweetly intimate version of “Send in the Clowns” won "Song of the Year” at the 1975 Grammy Awards. She’s garnered several top-ten hits, as well as gold- and platinum-selling albums. Recently, contemporary and classic artists such as Rufus Wainwright, Shawn Colvin, Dolly Parton, Joan Baez, and Leonard Cohen honored her legacy with the album Born to the Breed: A Tribute to Judy Collins.

The evening’s other headliner, Sophie B Hawkins, burst onto the international music scene with her 1992 platinum-selling debut album, Tongues and Tails, which included the indelible hit song “Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover,” and earned her a Best New Artist Grammy nomination.

The last three decades have brought multiple awards, sold out concerts, appearances on film and television, performances with some of the best known names in the business, a documentary feature, a critically-lauded tour-deforce performance as Janis Joplin in the nationally-touring play Room 105, songs appearing in hit films and TV shows, and five more albums, including Whaler, which featured the record-breaking longest-running single in Billboard Adult Contemporary chart history, the #1 hit “As I Lay Me Down.”

Stay dry, drive safely, and enjoy the show!
