Go Human Re-Launches to Kick Off Bike Month
The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) is re-launching its Go Human advertising campaign starting May 1 to encourage drivers to slow down and look for people walking and biking. Kicking off Bike Month, the campaign will run during May and June.
The May re-launch coincides with National Bike Month, and is part of Go Human’s broader public awareness efforts to promote traffic safety and encourage people to walk and bike more. Pedestrian and bicyclist fatalities account for nearly 30% of all roadway fatalities in Southern California. According to the California Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System, nearly 470 people were killed while walking or biking and more than 13,600 were injured in the six-county SCAG region in 2014, the most recent year for which data is available.
